  • How do your glasses compare to higher cost frames at my eye doctor or other websites?

    Our eyeglass frames are made using high quality acetates and metals. We work very hard to design and source the best possible frames for the money. We create our own designs under our own private label, thereby avoiding the fees that other companies pay for brand licensing arrangements. We work very closely with our suppliers to ensure our frames are made exactly to our specifications.
    With respect to our lenses, we have sourced high quality prescription lenses that come standard with anti-reflective and scratch coatings. 

  • What type of prescription lenses do you offer?

    We offer two prescription lens choices: Polycarbonate and 1.67 High Index.
    Our standard lenses for customers with prescriptions ranging from a Sphere of -6.00 to +4.00 and Cylinder up to -2.00 are polycarbonate. These lenses come with an anti-reflective and scratch coating. 
    For stronger prescriptions falling outside of this range, we provide 1.67 High Index lenses for a small upcharge. Through the use of this higher index lens material, these lenses are thinner and lighter than standard lenses and are ideal for stronger prescriptions. These lenses also have anti-reflective and scratch coatings. 

  • Do your lenses have scratch resistant and anti-reflective coatings?

    Yes, our lenses come with scratch resistant and an anti-reflective coatings at no extra charge. Our lenses also block 100% of UVA and UVB rays.

  • Do you offer progressive lenses or bifocals?

    At this time, we do not offer progressive or bifocals. This is something we are considering for the future.

  • How do I provide you my prescription information?

    There are three ways you can provide us your prescription. 1) You can email us a PDF of your prescription at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., 2) fax it to us at 412-594-7024, or 3) you can enter the information directly from your prescription onto our ordering page. If you would rather, you can provide us your doctor’s contact information and we can contact your doctor directly. Please note that the following states require that we verify your prescription by seeing it directly or by obtaining it from your doctor: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and Washington.

  • What is a “PD” measurement and why do you need this?

    “PD” stands for Pupillary Distance and is the measurement of the distance between the center of your pupils. The PD measurement is expressed in millimeters and is either provided as one number (binocular), or two numbers (monocular). It is important that you ask your eye doctor for this measurement when you obtain your eye exam.

  • Are there any prescriptions you cannot fill?

    For certain strong prescriptions or customers with high cylinder adds, we may be unable to fulfill your prescription. If after receiving your prescription we determine that we cannot fulfill it, we will refund your payment.   • Where do you edge your prescription lenses and assemble them into the frame?

    Our business is co-located with an optical lab operation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our lab uses the latest optical technology and is staffed by experienced technicians who take great pride in their work.

  • What is your return policy?

We will provide a full refund for all returns postmarked within 30 days from when you receive your frames. We do not accept refunds on damaged frames or frames returned due to misuse.

  • What is your warranty policy?

    We provide a six month warranty for manufacturer’s defects. This warranty does not cover broken frames or damaged lenses due to misuse. While other websites may claim to offer longer warranties or “no questions asked” lens replacements, ultimately you the customers pay for this. We believe our lenses are of superior quality to our competitors and will hold up quite nicely should they be properly cleaned and maintained.

  • How are buffalo horn frames made?

    Our buffalo horn frames are made from the horn of domesticated Asian water buffalo. These animals are domesticated and raised in Asia for dairy products, beef, and as labor on farms. None of these buffaloes are harvested only for their horn, nor are they from the wild. Each of our frames is hand crafted from a piece of horn.   • Can I ship an order outside of the US?

    We ship to all 50 US states free of charge. We also offer expedited shipping via UPS at a small upcharge (depending on zip code).
