2016 DIY New Years Eve Party

As crazy as it sounds, 2015 is coming to a close. It feels like only yesterday we were counting down to midnight to celebrate the new year, and now we’re about to do it again! If you plan on playing host for ringing in 2016, you know planning a party can be stressful, and expensive! Luckily, with a little help from the local craft store and Pinterest, DIY-ing the whole party is easy and cheap! Here are a few DIY ideas and recipes we LOVE for New Year’s Eve parties!

New Year Wreath

Your front door is the first thing your guests will see, so make sure it’s looking festive with this super simple wreath from The 36th Avenue!

Mason Jar Cheese Display

The easiest way to turn anything from boring to fabulous? Mason jars. Instead of having a drab appetizer spread, put them in mason jars with fun gold labels! We love the idea from The Country Chic Cottage!

Glittery Champagne Flutes

Festive champagne flutes can cost 40 bucks, and that’s just for a set of 4! Instead of dish out a ton of money for new flutes, update your old ones! Glitter is perfect for NYE and easy to decorate with. Find out how at Pretty My Party.

Sparkly Cake Topper

Decorating your dessert, whether it be cake or cupcakes (or even cake pops!) is easy and cheap with pipe cleaners. We love the idea from Say Yes. A good idea to make it extra special for NYE? Bend them in the shapes of numbers to spell “2016!”

Resolution Balloons

Balloons are an easy way to decorate, and having your guests write their resolutions on them is a fun activity that everyone can enjoy! We got the inspiration from Balloon Time.

Tuxedo Confetti Poppers

Fill the air with confetti at midnight by passing out these adorable confetti poppers to your guests to pop when the ball drops! Kristi Murphy’s DIY was for an Oscars viewing party, but we think it works great for NYE, too.

Fortune Cookie Treat Bags

Don’t send your guests home empty handed! No Biggie's idea of using fortune cookies is super clever, and they even provide you with a fun printable to decorate the treat bags!
